Evening

Sometimes, I like to walk in the middle of the road while the sun is setting, watching the sky bleed slowly into night.  My mother had always warned me as a child that to do such a thing was dangerous —

   A car will
     crush you
        flat, you know.

I don’t know if I believe in God.  I don’t know what I believe at all, really — but I believe that everything happens for a reason.  I think that if something is bound to happen, it will, and we are in very little control of the future.  It is the same story with all things — if we are meant to be, if I am meant to leave, if I am meant to die. 

     All things happen for a reason.

It’s why I walk in the middle of the road, watching the sunset.  Life is about taking risks, even if they seem little.
